Welcome to the Garry J. Armstrong (GJA) Family Website*, created by those with family for those with family (and POA's) to help navigate the unfamiliar environment we encounter when placing a loved one in a residence. Our purpose is to share with you the realities of having a loved one in a residence, the experience of those who have gone before, and provide some insights to help you in your efforts to ensure the health and safety of your family member.
It's an overwhelming experience when moving a family member to a new and unfamiliar location. Not just for the resident, but for families as well - new location, new environment, and lots of new and unfamiliar faces.
Trying to familiarize yourself with the new routines and procedures is a challenge, too. Here we'll also provide you with the ability to share your experiences with others and help you recognize you are not alone in your attempts to keep your family member safe and healthy....
Take your time and ask lots of questions- it's your right. (And it's also your right to view any information the Residence has regarding your resident.)
Read on, and contribute to this site- your comments/suggestions - as a resident, family/POA, volunteer or staff, to help us help you ensure the safety of our residents.
